5 sweet smart recipes with avocado

Avocado is a tropical fruit, even if it is often used for the creation of savory recipes such as bowls, avocado toasts with salmon and eggs, salads and so on… So, today we decided to suggest you an alternative use of this exotic fruit for creating sweets. These are healthy recipes, which limit the use of saturated fats, because it is known that avocado is an excellent source of unsaturated fats with a strong presence of omega 9 oleic acid, the same fat that characterizes extra virgin olive oil and to which many metabolic benefits are attributed.

Avocado has been analyzed in several medical-nutritional studies. One of these, led by Abhimanyu Garg, observed the effects of increasing dietary fat (coming from avocado) at the expense of carbohydrates (nutrients that are also scarce in the fruit), in a sample of hypertriglyceridemic diabetics. The results were positive as they led to the decrease in blood triglyceride levels… Are you ready? Here are our five proposals for today.

Avocado chocolate muffins

Our Chocolate Avocado Muffins are a great snack for a coffee or tea break, and we’re not just talking to the chocolate lovers out there. Avocado makes the batter incredibly creamy and adds a serving of healthy, unsaturated fatty acids that the body can use directly for essential metabolic processes. In addition, they have great satiating power.

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 1 Avocado (220 g)
  • Vegan dark chocolate (80 g)
  • Maple syrup (60 ml)
  • Vanilla extract (1 tsp, 3.5ml)
  • Cocoa powder (50 g)
  • Almond flour (40 g)
  • Baking soda (½ tsp, 2.5 g)

Instructions for 8 servings:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
  2. Cut in half, remove the pit and peel the avocado, then finely chop the chocolate.
  3. In a food processor, combine the avocado with the maple syrup, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, almond flour, baking soda and 1⁄2 of the chocolate. Blend until smooth.
  4. Fill the batter into the molds of a muffin pan and bake for about 10 minutes.
  5. Remove the muffins from the oven and then sprinkle the remaining chopped chocolate over them.

Lime and avocado tart

This lime and avocado tart is incredibly creamy and becomes the star of the smart snack, a healthy and delicious break from work. Avocado has a very fresh taste and as we have already said it is an excellent ally for the correct functioning of the metabolism, as well as pecans, excellent sources of iodine. A tip: don’t let the tart sit too long, otherwise the avocado mixture will soften. Best served right out of the fridge!

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • Fresh dates (240 g)
  • Pecans (110 g)
  • 1 Lime, organic (67 g)
  • Coconut flakes (50 g)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Coconut oil (2 tablespoons, 28 ml)
  • 4 Avocado (880 g)
  • Lime juice (120 ml)
  • Agave syrup (120 ml)

Instructions for 8 servings:

  1. Remove the kernels from the dates, then finely chop the dates and pecans.
  2. Grate the lime. In a blender or food processor, blend 1⁄2 of the zest with the coconut flakes, pecans, dates, and salt until smooth.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a springform pan, press the bottom of the mold and place it in the freezer to harden.
  4. Meanwhile, heat the coconut oil in the microwave or in a pot on the stove.
  5. Cut the avocado in half and remove the core. In a blender or food processor, combine the avocado with the lime juice, agave syrup, and coconut oil. Blend until you have a smooth blend.
  6. Fill the springform pan with the avocado mixture and use a spoon to smooth the top. Put in the freezer for at least 2 hours.
  7. Before serving, garnish with the remaining lime zest.

Cloud bread with hazelnut cream


What about something sweet for breakfast? This hazelnut and chocolate cream is quick to prepare and can be stored in the fridge for several days. The ideal is to spread it on our bread proposal, soft despite being composed of only 4 ingredients. All the fats present are healthy and can help you stay healthy even while satisfying the sweet cravings.

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • Hazelnuts (125 g)
  • 3 eggs (210 g)
  • Spreadable cheese (100 g)
  • Baking powder (1 tablespoon, 8 g)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Cocoa powder (25 g)
  • Avocado (55 g)
  • Sweetener (Stevia, Erythritol or similar) (to taste)

Instructions for 4 servings:

  1. Preheat the oven to 270°C.
  2. Spread the hazelnuts on a baking sheet covered with baking paper and toast them for about 8 minutes.
  3. Remove the hazelnuts from the oven, allow to cool and reduce the oven temperature to 180°C.
  4. Separate the eggs for the cloud bread and mix the egg yolks with the cream cheese and baking powder.
  5. Add a pinch of salt to the egg whites and beat. Then add the mixture of egg yolks and spreadable cheese.
  6. Make about 8 balls with the mixture and place them on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper; cook for about 25 minutes.
  7. Cut the avocado in half, remove the core and peel both halves with a knife. Coarsely chop the avocado.
  8. Put the cooled hazelnuts in a blender and mix them with the cocoa powder. Add the avocado and continue mixing.
  9. If necessary, dilute the hazelnut cream with a little water; in this way it will be easier to spread. Season to taste with the sweetener.

Paleo chocolate pudding


Chocolatey, creamy and sweet – that’s exactly how pudding should be! Paleo Chocolate Pudding is an alternative to the classic version with milk, but it is certainly just as delicious. Plus, it contains tasty fruit and can be prepared in just 10 minutes, without cooking. Another plus: The fruity mango dressing contains a lot of beta carotene.

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 Avocado (220 g)
  • 1 Banana (150 g)
  • Almond milk, unsweetened (80 ml)
  • Coconut sugar (30 g)
  • Cocoa powder (20 g)
  • ½ Mango (115 g)

Instructions for 2 servings:

  1. Cut the avocado in half, remove the core and extract the pulp. Also, peel and chop the banana.
  2. Blend the avocado, banana, almond milk, coconut sugar, and cocoa powder until smooth.
  3. Cut the mango in half, remove the stone and finely mash the fruit in a bowl with a fork.
  4. Divide the pudding into glasses and garnish with the mango puree.

Chocolate mousse with avocado


A healthy alternative for chocolate lovers. Our Avocado Chocolate Mousse is quick to make and tastes delicious, like cocoa and lemon. The avocado is barely perceptible, avoiding overwhelming but blending with the flavor of the other ingredients.

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 Avocado, ripe (220 g)
  • Agave syrup (2 tablespoons, 20 ml)
  • Almond milk, unsweetened (60 ml)
  • Lemon juice (2 tablespoons, 30 ml)
  • Fruit (to taste)
  • Cocoa powder (3 tablespoons, 45 g)

Instructions for 2 servings:

  1. Cut the avocado and remove the pit and peel.
  2. Mix with cocoa powder, agave syrup, almond milk and lemon juice (with a whisk or mixer) to form a creamy mousse.
  3. Garnish with fruit.
