5,000 Italian products and local specialties of excellence. 2,000 wine labels, making it the largest Italian wine cellar in the City and Europe, outside of Italy. The world’s first Eataly bulk product area, completely without packaging, is born in London.
We are delighted to finally open the doors of Eataly London to bring our love for Italian food and wine culture to the UK as well; to give space to many Italian producers coming there for the first time. Being together is at the heart of our brand values, and, following and implementing all the necessary security measures, we couldn’t wait to open our new Eataly; to celebrate passionate artisans and high-quality Italian food in a dynamic reality like London.Nicola Farinetti, Eataly CEO
On April 29, 2021, Eataly opened its first store in the UK in London, in Broadgate, next to Liverpool Street station.
The 4,000-square-foot space will house four restaurants, including an outdoor restaurant, the marketplace and La Scuola. It starts with the opening of the market, take-out and outdoor dining at La Terrazza. This will be followed by the opening of the indoor restaurants and the launch of La Scuola on May 20, 2021, according to the anti-covid protocols, as well as the inauguration of the restaurant Terra in September 2021.
Eataly: an Italian marketplace in London
Eataly London’s marketplace will offer more than 5,000 Italian products, many of them in the UK for the first time. Outstanding local specialties, it will include fresh counters such as bakery, butchery, fishmonger, and charcuterie and cheese. More than 2,000 wine labels will make Eataly London’s cellar the largest Italian wine cellar in Europe outside of Italy. The cheese dairy, on the other hand, will produce mozzarella and fresh cheeses on a daily basis. At La Via del Dolce will be able to buy freshly baked cakes, pastries, cannoli and homemade gelato. The offer is completed by illy Gran Caffè, while La Terrazza will host the Aperol Spritzeria with cocktails, wine and beer. For the first time in an Eataly store, a refill section for products sold in bulk will also make its debut, aimed at reducing the environmental impact of packaging.
