In 2020, the most in-demand IT jobs were developer, systems engineer, and IT project management officer. This is what came out after the survey conducted by Experis, a ManpowerGroup brand that provides IT services to businesses. In addition to ICT, the other sectors that have accelerated their recruitment are services, financial services, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare. The research shows that in 2021, the most sought-after jobs will be Machine Learning Specialist, Cloud Architect Specialist, Developer, and Cybersecurity Manager.

The most in-demand skills in 2021 beyond machine learning

As the research shows, the soft skills most in demand for IT professionals will be flexibility, communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and stress management, while key trends include increased use of video conferencing platforms, the adoption of smart working, and strong growth in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
