miart 2020 edition is digital. The modern and contemporary art fair organized by Fiera Milano this year will be held online due to logistical problems resulting from the anti-Covid directives. The ‘digital fair’ has been directed by Alessandro Riabottini and will be held in Milan from 11 to 13 September (with a VIP preview from 9 to 10). This is a prelude to the next edition which aims to demonstrate the art world willingness to reopen. It is a world that has severely suffered from the current situation.
The innovative format conceived for the 2020 edition of the fair aims at reasserting the commitment of Fiera Milano to supporting the restarting of the Italian art system and of the entire manufacturing and economic fabric.
Galleries, artists, museums and exhibitions are studying new strategies to reduce distances with the help of technology. It will allow them to reach the public, exploring the digital world and exploiting its ability to break the barriers. Shring, after all has always been one of miart key aspects. The event has always fostered exchanges between diverse disciplines and generations to mix artistic languages that at a first glance may appear worlds apart.
