The art of patchwork is making a comeback mainly because it is encouraged by recycling and upcycling trends. Not all brands can use this seam of different fabrics, creating an elegant and comfortable style at the same time. This technique often tells of a vintage style and has spread in Italy since the mid-nineties with the importation of specific fabrics.
This season the foundations for a new way of doing fashion that is becoming a philosophy of life more than a trend have been laid.
Once blankets were made from many leftover scraps of fabric taken from disused family clothes. Now, on the other hand, it is the big names of fashion that recover fabric leftovers from previous collections.
Think about it… a dress with patchwork tells a story, its origins and its new life. This week in #TCOTW we present some of our choices for what concerns the patchwork theme but also some “must have” items that cannot be missing in the fashion digital nomad wardrobe.
