The Gin Way is a start-up created by three young people from Brescia. In just a few months, they have conquered many gin lovers with their subscription mystery boxes. Now they are launching a shop dedicated to subscribers where they can order the contents of the boxes sent in the previous months. They are also launching the Golden ticket, a contest that rewards one customer each month.
The Gin Way: the new way to experience gin
The start-up was launched in May 2020 by three guys from Brescia, with the idea of selecting and sending a premium Italian gin by subscription every month. After not even a year since its birth, probably also thanks to the complicity of the various lockdowns, it has recorded unexpected numbers.
How does The Gin Way work?
On the website theginway.com you can select a subscription (at 49,00 euro/month, with free shipping) to receive a box, whose content remains mysterious, in which you will find, in addition to the bottle of gin, the right tonics, toppings, decorations, snacks and some original gadgets. Subscription can be monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly and has no constraints of duration or frequency; therefore, it can be interrupted or changed according to one’s needs.
The Gin Way is becoming more and more a club
The Gin Way, from the beginning, has established itself as the new way to drink gin. It wasn’t born with the intention of creating an alternative to the cocktail prepared by a professional; rather, it aims to help to create a gin culture and guide even those who don’t know it well in the discovery of many little-known gin brands (in Italy, there are over 500). So, by combining the idea with a business plan and supporting everything with a careful work of communication and promotion entrusted to the agency Shots.it, the number of boxes shipped in the first months has increased from a few dozen to 2,000 in December.
We want to make The Gin Way more and more a club. We want to build loyalty in those who have subscribed to our subscriptions. The relationship with customers who embrace the project is important to us. We have created a shop dedicated exclusively to subscribers where they can buy individually all the contents of the previous boxes, from gin to tonic, not to mention the gadgets. Willy Wonka and the mobile bar
Starting in January 2021, a year-round competition has come to life. Every month, a golden ticket will be inserted into a box drawn at random, which will entitle the winner to receive an exclusive prize. The first was a mobile bar for home use, with clean lines and functional shapes, designed by Milanese architects Luca Benassai & Evgeny Xytop.
On their website, you can find many interesting recipes with related videos on the Youtube channel. Their latest recipe is the Electric Witch. This cocktail plays with different approaches to saffron, the common ingredient between Elektro Gin and Strega liqueur.
- 4.5 cl Elektro Gin
- 1 cl Strega liqueur
- 3 cl Lemon Juice
- 1,5 cl Rich
- Top of ginger beer
- Fill the shaker with ice.
- Pour into the shaker all the ingredients except the ginger beer.
- Shake vigorously.
- Fill a collins glass with ice.
- Pour the contents of the shaker into the glass and strain.
- Add ginger beer on the top.
