New 5G Cloud Network promoted by Tim. It will improve the efficiency of logistic and production processes of companies.
TIM has launched the first 5G Cloud Network in Italy. A project carried out together with Noovle, the cloud company of the Group, in collaboration with Google Cloud and Ericsson. The solution will allow accelerating the creation of digital applications in 5G thanks to the automation of industrial processes, the development of real-time services, and EDGE Computing.
The project will benefit from Tim’s Telco Cloud infrastructure, Google Cloud solutions, and Ericsson 5G Core Network and Automation technologies.
In particular, as stated in a note, the solution will allow offering integrated solutions to companies, such as those in the automotive and transport sector. These will be able to improve the efficiency of logistics and production processes, acting in collaboration with software developers.
The 5G Cloud Network will be made available in close proximity to corporate locations based on individual needs, significantly reducing latency. Companies looking to adopt 5G connectivity and services will be able to leverage the ultra-wideband radio network (RAN) without having to build the physical infrastructure of the core network within their sites.
The project will also optimize network service deployment times and limit related costs while fully respecting data protection and industry standards.
