Uber presents its annual research that includes the list of the items most commonly forgotten during Uber rides this year.
Uber Lost & Found Index: Milan is the second most forgetful city in Europe
The annual Uber Lost & Found Index has been unveiled, revealing some of the strangest and most unusual objects that have been forgotten by passengers in Italy over the past year.
The report reveals the countries where personal items were most frequently lost, on which days of the week and which are the items that are most frequently lost. Among the Italian cities where the service is active – Miano, Rome and Bologna with Uber Black; Turin and Naples with Uber Taxi – Milan is the second among European cities in the ranking for lost objects, right after Vienna.
What are the most forgotten items, and on which days?
The smartphone remains at the top of the lost and found list, along with glasses, wallets, keys, suitcases and clothes, which make up the top five. For the first time in the 2020 report, however, Covid-19 protective masks are included in the rankings of items forgotten by passengers worldwide.
The worst days for memory for all cities in Italy are Friday and Thursday; in this order, and the most popular hours of the day for forgetting items are between 13.00 and 20.00. Evidently, this is due to the upcoming weekend. The forgetful risk of leaving for the weekend without luggage or a passport. In this ranking, it is surprising how even Italian moms often forget objects or clothing items of their children, such as scooters, games of various kinds, hats, and baby bottles.
Every trip booked through Uber’s app is tracked via GPS to ensure there is a record of the driver, passenger and trip, making it easy to track down a lost item. Passengers who leave their items behind during a trip can immediately contact their driver through the Uber app.
Additionally, to protect personal information, the number will be made anonymous. Uber’s support team is available 24 hours a day through the app’s Help section or customer service line in case the passenger is unable to contact the driver.
