The story of Villa Sparina began in the early seventies with the initiative and passion of Mario and Bruna Moccagatta. They bought the eighteenth-century estate of Monterotondo and created the farm Villa Sparina. It is immersed in the hills of Gavi in Monterotondo, one of the most vocated wine areas of Italy. Since the very first harvests, the winery has been recognized as one of the most accurate producers of the area, also thanks to the experience and sensibility with which the family conducts the business.
Villa Sparina has kept intact its identity and its excellence. Today it is run by Mario and Bruna’s three children: Stefano, Tiziana and Massimo Moccagatta.
The three siblings have understood the potentialities and the charm of the territory. Thus, in 2004, they were able to make Villa Sparina a unique place of high hospitality, where the welcoming atmosphere, the attention to detail and the guarantee of an enveloping and extraordinary experience are always in the first place. The complementary sensibilities and passions of Stefano, Tiziana and Massimo, have allowed Villa Sparina to become a cult reality and recognized for hosting large events and splendid weddings, as well as being one of the most established resorts in the hotel industry throughout Italy.

La Gallina Restaurant’s chef is Thomas Papa. Thomas, who grew up in this kitchen for over 5 years, interprets the great Piedmontese cuisine and draws on the traditions of Gavi. Culturally and historically linked to Liguria and the Salt Road. The menu is generous, mouth-watering and carefully prepared. La Gallina ideally completes the experience of this unique estate able to evoke even Haute cuisine; in perfect symbiosis with nature, where you can take care of yourself and be pampered by the skill of attentive and caring professionals.
